Buy the Children's Stornoway Cape sewing pattern from Greyfriars and Grace. The Stornoway Cape is a simple design so go crazy on the fabric! It’s great for fabulous mid to heavy weight cotton/linen or wool fabric, and looks stunning with a turtleneck jumper in the winter. The cape is fully lined so you don’t need to worry about finishing any seams. The pattern includes an optional ruffle.

For an environmentally friendly option, reuse redundant curtains, as they are often wonderful heavyweight fabric good for capes. The William Morris fabric cape in the photographs was previously a curtain!
